Machine learning: Making sense of a messy world The world is filled with things that most of us can understand and react to without much thought. A stop sign partially covered by snow? Still a stop sign. But for computers, the world is often messy and complicated. Google engineers and researchers discuss how machine learning is helping to make computers, and many of the things we use them for (maps, search, video recommendation), smarter. SHARE

computation efficiency and density has hit a physical bottle neck. unless we are able to figure out quantum computing or some other technology that can give us more computation power, it is unlikely that we will have self aware machines.

Machines are better than ever at computing large amounts of data but they still can't make meaning of this data, even with machine learning, it'll take some time, definitely more than 50 years with the way things are currently going. Also there are some strong and intelligent advocates against the advancement of AI so early on as a species, we should first understand how to safe guard a technology before introducing it as it may be hazardous, but history has shown that that is rarely the case. Progress can't be stopped, only slowed down, and for our species's sake, I hope we thread the AI situation carefully or this is a road we're going down where there isn't a coming back.

Seriously, improve this comment section for real. I mean when I click on "read more" it opens up reply window just because it's hard to tap precisely on "read more" and it irritates me a lot. Please look into this. Thanks!

I would like a video where you talk about this topic but is not aimed at the average person. A video for people who work in IT, ICT or as computer scientists.
Long story short: I want to know dem specs. :P Or at least a more in depth look at what Google is working on right now.
