Machine learning: Making sense of a messy world The world is filled with things that most of us can understand and react to without much thought. A stop sign partially covered by snow? Still a stop sign. But for computers, the world is often messy and complicated. Google engineers and researchers discuss how machine learning is helping to make computers, and many of the things we use them for (maps, search, video recommendation), smarter. SHARE

Also there are some strong and intelligent advocates against the advancement of AI so early on as a species, we should first understand how to safe guard a technology before introducing it as it may be hazardous, but history has shown that that is rarely the case. Progress can't be stopped, only slowed down, and for our species's sake, I hope we thread the AI situation carefully or this is a road we're going down where there isn't a coming back.
